The Elangeni School in Chesham Bois, Amersham, is certainly one of the most successful of its kind and one that feeds many of its pupils to Dr. Challoner's Grammar School, the base of GondarLink's work. Jeanette Pusey is the Headteacher and driving force here with her enthusiastic pupils keen to build relationships with their counterparts in Ethiopia. They have energetically been organising fundraising events for Gondar and are already planning how to spend the proceeds on behalf of their link school in Azezo, just outside Gondar.
The Atse Fasil School sits in an open situation immediately next to the Azezo Secondary School which is itself linked with the Misbourne School. The buildings of the Atse Fasil School have suffered from a great deal of neglect over the past decades and many of the mud and straw classrooms are unfit for present needs. However new blocks are beginning to be planned and they certainly hope that this new school link with the Elangeni School is coming at just the right time to encourage an optimistic and stimulating future for their pupils.
