The Studio itself This delightful, mahogany-floored studio is located in a historic building in the 1st arrondissement, the heart of Paris. Despite the bustle of the city outside, this second-floor apartment is peaceful and quiet at all times. The studio is perfect for two people, but it also has a sofa that opens into another decent-sized double bed. Otherwise, as you would expect, it has all the amenities of a modern home, including a shower room, separate toilet, kitchen (with fridge, cooker and washer-drier) and, in the sitting room, a TV with some digital channels, stereo, DVD, and free wifi connection. The surrounding area Only metres away is the Forum des Halles, an open gardened square that hides much of the city’s best shopping, cinemas and restaurants in a world-famous multi-storey underground centre that is still considered to be a technological marvel. A five-minute walk across the boulevard Sebastopol brings you to the Pompidou Centre. You either love it or you hate it, but it is certainly an eye-catching and stimulating piece of architecture that houses one of the world’s great collections of modern art, a truly popular tourist attraction. Paris at your feet The Louvre is ten minutes walk from the apartment, and a stroll along the banks of the Seine starts only five minutes away from your front door. Turn left for another five minutes to get to the cathedral of Notre Dame. Turn right and you are heading straight for the Eiffel Tower. Music at the Châtelet Theatre and opera at l’Opéra and the Bastille are all easily accessible on foot. And as for restaurants, bars and clubs, you are spoilt for choice with the fascinating Marais area just moments from your home. Then of course, if you really want to, you can take a train to EuroDisney from your local station—just nine stops away!! Availability I try to keep the calendar below as up to date as possible, but you can always phone or email me to check precisely. Cost The usual rate for the studio is just 84€ (minimum stay three nights except where you might want to fill in a couple of non-booked nights!), but if you want to stay longer than a week, there are even better rates for you. Just email me and ask, and we can come to some agreement. I absolutely love staying at my studio. And you will too. Why not get in touch and let’s see what we can arrange? I have many more details all ready to send you by email. Just ask! Best wishes Chris Phone: (00 44) (0)20 7241 3544 Mobile: (00 44) (0)7890 407353 E-mail: chrisstudio@gondarlink.org.uk |
