Paul: In 1998, I spent three months teaching and living in Gondar, northern Ethiopia, where I met so many children facing hardship that I felt I wanted to do more to help.

GondarLink is a charity dedicated to supporting the young people in the Gondar region of northern Ethiopia.

Since 1996 they have worked through school linking programmes, special projects and other partner charities to improve the education and lives of those who need it most.

We both fully support the efforts of Gondarlink in one of the most difficult places in the world for a child to grow up. We are always in awe of the time, effort and enthusiasm that Chris Grant and his many willing volunteers are able to devote to this small part of the world. It seemed the obvious thing to do, when we decided we wanted to do a big bike ride, to do it in aid of one of the most worthy causes we can think of.

If you want to learn more about GondarLink, their extensive website tells of all they do in Ethiopia and also of the other charities and school links they are involved with. Click here to go to their website.

If you want to learn more about Ethiopia, we particularly recommend the GondarLink Guide to Ethiopia which, we hope, contains everything you could wish to know about this wonderful country. To go to the Guide to Ethiopia, click here.
